DrugScope responds to government reports on over the counter and prescription medicines
Martin Barnes, Chief Executive of DrugScope, said, “There are a variety of reasons why someone might become dependent on prescription or over-the-counter medicines. Drugs used for legitimate medical purposes can lead to an involuntary addiction, while problematic drug users will often use drugs like benzodiazepines in addition to ‘street drugs’, especially if there is an issue with availability or purity. These distinctions are important, and demonstrate the need for research to determine the prevalence of the issue.” | DrugScope, UK
